The first episode, featuring conversations with West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project, Bay Area Air Quality Management District, California Air Resources Board, and Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia, digs into air quality as a piece of the environmental justice (EJ) puzzle. We explore the importance of monitoring air quality at the neighborhood scale, the roles of community residents, government agencies, and a recent state program called AB 617.
