As the West Coast grapples with devastating wildfires and air quality impacts, nonprofit Brightline installed a unique solar-powered air quality sensor network throughout August and September 2020, serving low-income residents in the Tenderloin, South of Market, and Chinatown as covered on KQED. As these high-quality sensors track localized air impacts from Bayview-Hunters Point to the City's western neighborhoods, air quality data will be made continuously available to the public at tinyurl.com/brightlineAQ

Brightline will continue to expand its sensor network, thanks to recent support from SF Recreation and Parks, SF Planning, SF Public Utilities Commission, California Air Resources Board, Chinatown Community Development Corporation, and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, among other agencies.
